Je hebt een openhartoperatie achter de rug. Een ingrijpende gebeurtenis. Je bent blij dat het achter de rug is. Maar nu, weken of zelfs maanden later, heb je nog steeds last. Een drukkend gevoel op je borst. Pijn in je ribbenkast die maar niet weggaat. Je gaat terug naar de cardioloog. Alles wordt onderzocht. En telkens hoor je: er is niks aan de hand met je hart.

Herkenbaar?

Wij zien regelmatig mensen die na een openhartoperatie blijven zitten met pijnklachten. Soms krijgen ze de diagnose syndroom van Tietze of costochondritis. Maar vaak blijft het onduidelijk waar de pijn vandaan komt. En dat geeft onrust. Want hoe kan het nou dat alles in orde is, maar jij je nog steeds niet goed voelt?

Waarom ontstaat pijn op de borst na een openhartoperatie?

Tijdens de operatie is je borstkas opengezet. Er is flinke kracht gebruikt om alles langere tijd open te houden. Wij vermoeden dat deze druk ervoor zorgt dat de gewrichten van je ribben met de wervels in je rug schade hebben opgelopen. De bewegingen in je borstkas zijn uit balans geraakt. Je ribben, kraakbeen en gewrichten zijn geïrriteerd. En dat voel je. Elke dag. De pijn die dit geeft veroorzaakt angst en onzekerheid. is het wel goed gegaan? het is toch niet weer mijn hart?

Hoe wij je kunnen helpen

De ervaring van Joke: van constante pijn naar klachtenvrij

"10 jaar geleden heb ik een openhartoperatie gehad. Ik bleef altijd last houden van een drukkend gevoel op mijn borst en pijn in mn ribbenkast. Altijd weer terug naar de cardioloog, maar altijd was alles in orde.

Op een gegeven moment ben ik toch maar eens gaan googelen naar pijn in ribben en druk op de borst. Ik kwam uiteindelijk op de site van Olga uit en ik herkende mij in de symtomen van Tietze.

Direct een afspraak gemaakt en na 1 behandeling voelde ik al verlichting en veel minder pijn. In het begin ging ik iedere maand ongeveer een half jaar lang, misschien iets langer dat weet ik niet precies meer. Ik ben nu nog steeds klachten vrij, wat een verademing.

Maar zodra ik weer last krijg kan ik uiteraard weer een afspraak maken. En Olga is gewoon heel vertrouwd, ik voelde me er direct op mn gemak."
